#1 World Most Strategic Archipelago

Between Asia and Australia


Situated in the most strategic spot, Indonesia claim the first prize for geographical lottery in planet earth. It is the most strategic country among all the archipelagic nation in the world. Every year, more than 60,000 vessel crosses the strait of Malacca, which situated in the western part of Indonesia. Route through this strait is the shortest path from persian Gulf to China, Japan, U.S. and other pacific nation. 






If, the strait of Malacca were blocked, half of all the world ocean fleet would have to reroute through Sunda or Lombok strait in southern part of the archipelago. These strait is located between Sumatra and Java island and between Bali and Lombok island. 


The pulses of strait malacca beat continously with the distribution of fossil fuel, the main source of modern human energy. With an estimation of 13.6 million bbl every day (2009 data) crossing this strait, Malacca is undoubtly the most vital chokepoint in the whole Asian continent.
